Texture is your friend with Top Shop Tall and Phillip Lim!

Hey hey it’s the weekend!

Here is my tall fashion inspiration for today using multi-texture fabrics in some fun ways! The skirt is the beautiful Lurex Tube Skirt from Top Shop Tall department, it almost looks pixilated with lots of fine print throughout, giving it a really interesting composition. I have teamed the skirt up with the Tall Knitted Fluffy Crop Jumper from Top Shop Tall department which is a lot of fun with a lot texture. Moving on down to the shoes, this morning I discovered a fantastic independent online retailer for women’s shoe sizes 10-14 via Twitter called Shoesissima. You know how I love my independent sources for above average sizes and I really stumbled upon a great place to support. I am loving the clean, simple lines of the Bardot- Crystal Trimmed Leather Flat, with a splash of faux crystal gems littered across the toe, these shoes have my name written all over them. Now to the bag, the most textured piece of my Look Du Jour! I am enamoured with all things Phillip Lim creates, I bought a few pieces  from his funky  Target line but that is unfortunately the only price point that he has created for, that won’t have my credit cards crumbling before my very eyes. Alas, this bag, oh this glorious bag, it’s the Olive Shearling Ryder Shoulder bag and it comes in two colours, each equally fabulous. The jewellery I love because it’s simple and doesn’t take away from all the wonderful fabrics of this ensemble. Both the earrings and the necklace are from designer Mei-Li Rose and can be found here and here.

Hope everyone has a great weekend looking fabulous!

Black Friday Purchase of the Day!

Hey Hey My Fellow Amazonians!

I just celebrated my first American Thanksgiving which was AMAZING, new friends, too much food and a great feeling of togetherness with lots to be thankful for. On top of my constant things to be thankful for; good health of my loved one, gorgeous loving husband, sweet-as-pie puppy, living in amazing/beautiful/wacky San Francisco. However there is a new item on the list this year and it’s Black Friday!! I have never experienced such a day dedicated to great savings, blessed country of the free, with your crazy appetite for consumerism!

My favourite Black Friday purchase were these sexy black boots with tribal decor down the back from Barefoot Tess at a wapping 60% off!! They are having a HUGE 60% off sale most of their black boots and shoes. I can’t wait for these puppies to show up, so I can throw into the mix of my winter wardrobe!

What was your favourite tall Black Friday find??

My Latest Style Muse at 6’3 Elizabeth Debicki

Hey Tallies!

The stunning glamazon Elizabeth Debicki played Jordan Baker in Baz Luhrmanns’ The Great Gatsby. I love her classic style, unfortunately I can’t find any street-style’esque photos of her, I would love to see how she dresses when she hasn’t been professionally styled.

Just finished a little project I have been working on…

Hey Tall Beauties!

I got a little crafty with my bad self today and put the bellow necklace together. Nothing brings a good outfit together like a beautiful statement piece. I really love this colour combination,  the greys and purple really compliment each other and the big pearly piece in the middle distracts from all my newby faux-pas 😉

I found all my crafty tidbits at Michaels craft store and scoured Pinterest for some inspiration and DIY tricks on how to weave/knot/braid using paracord.  I wasn’t really feeling any of the techniques I came across on Pinterest and in the end I got my inspiration from this DIY video from youtube. In the video she uses t-shirt material and a straight forward “Straight Knot” technique. I swapped the material for paracord and leather which was really easy to knot, added my chain, some purple accents, the bead and TA-DA!

Edgy Glam Outfit For a Night Out!

Happy Monday Tall Ones!

I had a pretty exciting weekend eating and dancing my way through  the streets of New Orleans,  leaving me quite inspirited for my Outfit Du Jour! This look is inspired  by the energetic, soulful city incorporating an edgy, grimy, sultry, rock’n vibe and as always, it’s perfectly suited for us long legged women!

I am loving this new Multi Checked Tube skirt from Top Shop’s Tall department, it’s the perfect piece to center this punky look. I teamed the Multi Checked Tube skirt up with a great textured tee, again from Top Shop’s Tall department. The Tall Quilted Leather Look Tee is a functional staple that will also look stunning with a pair of jeans, boots and a cardi. I usually like to source all my pieces from TALL fit retailers but I couldn’t pass on this knee length vest from ASOS, it really accompanies this ensemble with it’s leather detailing. What’s most fabulous about this piece is, although it’s not specifically tailored for tall gals, it doesn’t lose any of it’s aesthetic resting a couple inches above the knee opposed to right on it. The vest is a great alternative to your everyday short biker vest, it’s loose and open, creating elegant long lines but it still has notes of badass biker. This vest is definitely something I would wear to elongate the uber curvy silhouette that the tube skirt creates. Let us now bring it on down to the shoes; with their perfect heel height and totally trendy black and white colour palette, these strappy gems by Jeffery Campbell are an impeccable sole-mate for this outfit and adding a bit of glam. Following the black and white theme I found this amazing Miss Bag Losanges handbag from Laema which I can’t wait to update my own closet with, such a classic shape, it’s versatility is endless. Last, but certainly knot, least this super on-trend Knot Half Moon statement necklace from Alienina.
